The Prideaux-Brune family has been entertaining guests at Plumber Manor for over 400 years! Hardly surprising, therefore, that the manor is now home to one of the most popular restaurants in Dorset, a particular favorite of discerning Dorset residents.
“Our guests are our friends and I cook for my friends” is Brian Prideaux-Brune’s philosophy, much appreciated by residents and local diners alike.
Brian has long been recognized as one of the most accomplished chefs in the West Country and is something of a celebrity chef in his native Dorset. His cooking is accomplished and confident; his food is unpretentious and full of flavor, created with flair and imagination. He uses the finest fresh and mainly local ingredients; meat from local farms, game caught locally, fresh fish and shellfish from the nearby Dorset coast, local vegetables and herbs.

Richard Prideaux-Brune is responsible for the cellar, a responsibility he takes very seriously indeed. The result is an enviable wine list that complements perfectly the exceptionally fine food.
The restaurant comprises three rooms, two of which are decorated with family portraits and have open fires, a popular feature in winter. The quirky Cellar Room features a vaulted brick ceiling and has been hand-painted to depict an authentic country scene.
The restaurant is open every evening of the week as well as for lunch on Sunday.
